Booking
Booking and payment of a deposit establish a legal contract. By booking you are confirming that you have read the conditions and agree on behalf of all members of your party to abide by them.
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be taken at the time of booking. The remainder of the balance is to be paid on departure. In the event of a cancellation the deposit is non-refundable. If we are able to move your booking to a date later in the season and we can re-let your original booking, we will do so, less a £10 admin fee.
Unfortunately, if we are unable to re-let your booking, the deposit will not be refunded or moved forward. Therefore we strongly advise that you take out adequate travel insurance to cover such an eventuality. We regret that in the event of a guest leaving early for any reason, no refunds will be given and the balance for the full stay will still be owed. This also applies to adverse weather conditions, over which we have no control.
Cancellation by us
Keld Bunkbarn reserve the right to cancel a holiday in light of unforeseeable circumstances whereby we are unable to provide safe accommodation due to extreme conditions, ill health, fire or any other extenuating circumstance. Under such unlikely circumstances your deposit will be returned in full. Keld Bunkbarn cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss caused by cancellation.
Pets
A £10 charge applies per pet per stay. Please wipe dirty paws before letting dogs into the bunk barn and do not allow on the furniture. Please ensure that your dog is kept under close control at all times and that you pick up after them.
Smoking
All buildings are strictly no smoking.
Noise and disturbance
Our guests come to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the dale, which we share with other residents and wildlife. We therefore discourage guests from playing music and after 10pm we ask that noise be kept to a minimum.
Guests are asked to give consideration to other residents and not to cause nuisance or annoyance. Behaviour should be in keeping with the family environment and should not be excessive, noisy or disruptive. In the unlikely event of inappropriate, dangerous or illegal behaviour we reserve the right to ask guests to leave immediately with no refunds or compensation given.
Group bookings
We are a quiet family site and therefore are unable to accept group bookings for Hen/Stag parties unless booking the whole site.
Damage and breakages
Any damage or breakages which may occur must be paid for. Small accidental damages or breakages of a minor nature will not normally be charged but you are required to report all breakage and damage to the owners at the time. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage caused by negligence and the associated costs for reinstatement.
Personal responsibility
Keld Bunkbarn are not liable for loss or damage to guests’ property or any injury to themselves or dependents during their stay. Parents should be responsible for their children at all times. Lock your vehicle securely and remove all valuable items on parking. The Bunkbarn is in an area with uneven terrain and steep paths, so you should bring appropriate footwear, we recommend wellies or hiking boots. The site also borders a river and there is a waterfall with cliffs and sheer drops therefore great care must be taken and children and pets should be supervised at all time. Please remember you are staying in a riverside environment with uneven terrain and other hazards. The proprietor accepts no liability for any accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by any resident, their family, visitors, animals, vehicle or personal effects however caused.
River safety
Please be aware that slippery rocks, deep cold water and strong currents make wild swimming potentially dangerous and should only be attempted by strong swimmers under the right conditions and so is done entirely at your own risk and we cannot accept any liability for any injury’s which may occur. Please also be aware that swimming directly beneath a waterfall can be particularly dangerous as the water becomes aerated making the swimmer less buoyant.
